Myth & Symbol Opening

Myth & SymbolDon't tell Austin, but I spent last weekend maybe falling a little in love with Houston. I hadn't been in 15 years, and the city was pretty amazing. Between wonderful meals, gorgeous city parks, great shopping, and actual rain, it was a magical weekend with family and friends. One of the highlights was stopping in at Myth & Symbol on their opening day and getting to meet the lovely Trang, Chau, and BJ in person. I had heard a lot of buzz about the shop and it did not disappoint in person--it's truly lovely. These rather blurry photos do not do it justice, which just means I need to get back there soon.

The clever furniture and fixtures do a great job in complimenting the modern goods for sale. The shop is so well curated and provides a wonderful mix of high and low with a little bit of something for everyone. Case in point, I brought 8 members of my family in and everyone found something they loved. My mom was their first customer, purchasing a pair of Dream Collective earrings as a birthday gift for my cousin.

This Saturday evening is the official grand opening party from 5-10pm, so if you're in the Houston area, be sure to stop by (2537 Times Boulevard in the Rice Village shopping center). They are offering 25% off all clothing during the grand opening, which means it's a good thing I live in Austin.
