Tool & Tack Holiday Gift Box

Following on the success of our pop-up event, we're excited to introduce our limited edition curated gift boxes featuring a unique selection of hand made items, now available for pre-order!

Our first gift box features a Canoe hand tooled walnut leather keychain with 1" swivel snap closure and no.6 wood-burned Opinel pocket knife, paired with Salt & Time's ¼ lb Toscano Salame and 4oz container of Death To False Mustard, made with Jester King Brewery’s Black Metal Stout.

Salt & Time's Toscano Salame is made using local Texan pork, toasted fennel, black pepper, and red wine. They start with whole pigs, butcher them by hand then cure, ferment and dry the meat using traditional techniques.

The set comes packaged in a 11" x 7" x 3" wood crate with a vintage USGS topographical map measuring 22" x 27" (various Western states), jute ribbon, and a tooled leather gift tag. If you’re looking for a gift for that discerning special someone, look no further.

The Tool & Tack Gift Boxes are now available for pre-order in the shop, and will ship out on December 5th via USPS priority mail, arriving safely to your door by December 8th. We have a very limited quantity of these, so don't delay in ordering yours!

Forage preview

5962228653_03bb3971b0_bWe're still working on our special FORAGE bow ties just for the Tool & Tack pop up shop. They're not quite done, but we can share swatches of the vintage dead-stock fabric. The collection is hand made in our Philadelphia studio in limited numbers with less than ten of each pattern. Once they're gone - they're gone! 5625656103_37189a33aa_b

Since fall is nearly here, we selected our favorite spicy and rustic patterns from our vintage collection. We love making bow ties from cotton woven fabric because it keeps the bow ties feeling casual. We're big fans of the everyday bow tie, no need to wait for special occasions.

Forage inspiration

We're collectors of many things and are always searching for inspiration. When designing our bow ties, we research vintage photos and cabinet cards to find examples of shapes and silhouettes. We're always going back to the photos we've collected for more inspiration. Our recent cricket style features a larger knot and allows you to tie the bow as wide or narrow as you like. Finding your own bow personality takes a bit of time, but that's half the fun.

Pop up poster

6164354049_5931e902a4_o When we're not sewing bow ties, we can be found printing in our print shop. Just over a year ago, when we made our first FORAGE bow tie, we knew we wanted to print all of our own packaging. Inspired by turn of the century advertisements, we hand set all the type for our business cards, boxes and tags.

For special collections, we like to print posters on our triumph proofing press. Using old wood and lead type, the final design is hand inked to print each and every poster. It's a long process taking two full days from start to finish. We're pretty excited about this new print featuring some of our favorite typefaces.

Want one? We're happy to share... order any FORAGE bow tie between now and October 15th and it will come wrapped in a hand printed Tool & Tack letterpress poster!
